Italian Exhibition Group, Two New Top Management Appointments

Italian Exhibition Group, which specializes in organizing international trade fair events and is listed on Euronext Milan, has adopted an organizational model that includes the establishment of two new figures with strategic responsibilities reporting directly to the chief executive officer: the chief business officer and the chief corporate officer. The two appointments are instrumental in achieving the goals of the 2023-2028 strategic plan.
      
Specifically, the role of Cbo, called to coordinate the group's trade fair business and its digital evolutions, has been entrusted to Marco Carniello, who has served in recent years as global brand director of the company's jewelry sector. The role of Cco, which is entrusted with the management of the operations, finance, hr, It, legal & compliance, and corporate activities of the subsidiaries, will be held by Carlo Costa, who, until 2022, served as group chief financial officer in the company.

Costa, born in 1968, began his professional career in the financial management of Luigi Lavazza Spa, rising to the position of treasurer. Also in the role of treasurer and financial controller, he matured a brief but significant experience at Ifas gruppo in Turin, at the time one of the most important dealers in the automotive sector controlled by a Milanese investment fund.
      
In 2001 he joined the then Ente Autonomo Fiera di Rimini, accompanying it in its transformation into a Spa and then maintaining a constant presence among the protagonists of all the major operations: M&A in Italy and abroad, the integration with Fiera di Vicenza, which gave rise to Italian Exhibition Group, the 2019 listing, just to name a few. Since 2022 he has held the position of chief financial officer & Hr Manager at Consorzio Tutela Grana Padano.
     
Carniello, born in 1977, began his career in consulting at the American multinational Accenture, focusing on projects in retail and large-scale retail. He then moved to London to work as a senior analyst in revenue management at Avis Rent a Car. In 2009 he returned to strategy consulting at Bain & Company in Milan and worked in the media, consumer goods and large events businesses.
     
In 2012 he exits consulting and enters as Sales Director in a private equity deal in the Milan-based mobility accessories company Tucano Urbano, developing the internationalization of the brand. In 2016 he is hired by the then Fiera di Vicenza, then Italian Exhibition Group, to lead Vicenzaoro and then the entire jewelry division, adding the fairs of Arezzo, Dubai and Singapore to the portfolio. By innovating the fair formats, he manages to organize Vicenzaoro even during the pandemic years then leading it in January 2024 to achieve the best results in the 70-year history of the event with an international leadership position.
