For a fleeting New York minute, magic and beauty converged before the 2024 Met Gala, where stars from the Cartier galaxy sparkled in a theater of creative revelations at Bemelmans Bar at the Carlyle Hotel.
I n an ode to the exhibition’s theme, Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion, and the gala’s dress code, The Garden of Time, collections from the past were reawakened and blossomed with intensity. Elle Fanning, Shakira, Sebastian Stan, Meg Ryan, Jon Batiste, Isabelle Huppert and more all brought new life to pieces from across the decades: from Cartier Collection to Cartier Tradition and the latest collections. Donald Glover paired a Cartier Collection Panthère brooch with a Roadster watch from the Cartier Collection while Jessica Biel radiated modern glamor in Grain de Cafê.
Meanwhile, new creations from the Maison welcomed playful twists. Igniting an imaginative world, the latest High Jewelry collection, Nature Sauvage, made its debut in two moments: in an emerald and diamond necklace and earring set worn by Demi Moore and in a diamond necklace and earring set on Emma Chamberlain. Dwyane Wade displayed a shoulder jewelry watch from the new Cartier Libre collection, Polymorph, and Sofia Coppola and Eiza González both selected creations from the latest Cartier Libre collection, Tuttitutti.
It was a moment where time seemed to stand still, where style and spirit took center stage, in the magic of the Met.
